Despite Waiting in Line for Days, Apple Tells Customers They Can't Buy iPhone 7 Plus [Video]

Posted September 16, 2016 at 2:03am by iClarified
Apple Store representatives have told customers, some of whom have been waiting in line for days, that they will be unable to buy an iPhone 7 Plus when stores open in the morning. The company says the Jet Black iPhone 7 and all models of the iPhone 7 Plus are sold out.

Needless to say this angered and disappointed many of the company's most loyal fans.

Bishoy Behman, a 17 year old who was the first customer in line in Sydney, Australia, says:

"It's very frustrating that I've slept in the rain and in the wind and the cold and I've been here all day, been laughed at, been taken photos of, just suffering basically and in the end it was for nothing. I don't even get a phone."

The Apple Store in Sydney handed out some $100 gift cards to the very first customers in line to try and soften the blow but quite a few customers decided to leave.

Take a look at the video below for more details...

Notice how apple didnt tell anyone until the launch time! Wouldnt want to lose the PR effect of a queue of people they knew would be disappointed. So disrespectful. Tell people, put a sign on the door or something. Another launch another wave of apple pissing on people. Hubris comes before a fall!

I preordered my Jet Black Plus. Went to AT&T this morning to see if they might have one in stock. Was 2nd in line. Dude came out and said no AT&T stores in Minneapolis received 7+'s today. Guess I will just wait.

Just to let you know I'm not a crazy grammar nazi but it's "you're" not "your". And for the phones. Not everyone could reserve one online. The preorders sold out quick. And most of the models won't ship until mid October, November and even December. My 2 local Apple stores both said they'd have plenty of stock on launch day and not to worry. I think there was such a backlash from Apple yearly upgrade customers not being able to reserve or order one that they used stock originally meant for the stores for their orders just to make them happy. Some guy in California already filed a class action lawsuit because of it. I agree some people that wait days or weeks at a time are a little crazy for doing so but Apple usually has stock on launch day.

I don't understand this! Why sleep outside the shop if you can pre-order and have shipped to you. Sound stupid to waste time staying outside the store. Besides, I have iPhone 6s plus 128gb, why would upgrade? Maybe until 7s plus.

Not everyone has the same phone as you. They could be upgrading from type of phone. In my opinion it's apples fault. They should know they always have a huge turnout so they should have had enough stock for launch day.

That is because Crapple doesn't have the supply. Watch them shoot themselves in the foot and lose out on all the Note 7 people that could be trading in.

Come on. There are many other phones. What's the big deal with Iphone....Apple use to keep their stock in warehouses to create an illusion of high sales due to demand. Last year I tried to get an iPhone from the telco, they told me out of stock and my Friend work in the warehouse told me they are keeping the iPhones and plenty of stocks.

I really like LG and HTC phones. But I've tried android and I just can wrap my mind around it. Even some Samsung phones are nice, but as I worked at Best Buy, I got to see the demos everyday and most of them had ghosting going on with their oled screens. It was really embarrassing, and the Samsung rep would replace them as soon as he was told about the issue. Happened a few time. There is a lot of quality with iPhones, but Apples approach to customer concerns is just null.

Well apple didn't tell them to queue up did they, so why moan like it's their fault.

Perhaps Apple paid them to queue. A good form of marketing

They probably limited stock on purpose so as to encourage people to pre-order right away and then they'd quickly run out and be able to say they couldn't keep up with the demand. All a ruse. Still ordered one since all those companies act the same way and there's just no avoiding it.

Look what's happening to Samsung right now with their Note 7's. I wonder if Apple limits first batches to see if there's any issues. The. If there is they can fix it before they go out. Just a theory. It could also be because of all the crap they're getting from the People on the upgrade program that could get to order one. They might have used that extra store stick to make them happy.

In a way I'm glad they announced.that they were out of iPhone 7 plus for store walk-ins tomorrow. It saved me a trip and standing for hours. Last time I braved the crowds the still ran out while there were still 100 people in line ahead of me. So the whole thing was and would have been a waste of time.

Well, I feel that because I was just told the same thing, that I can't get the phone I wanted.

Titan3636 - September 16, 2016 at 2:48am
It's the financial ways of supply and demand. If there was ample quantities of the phones then none would want them and there would be no media buzz. Apple is the master of advertising and sales. Their goal is to make items you didn't even know you wanted become items you can't live without and they do it better than anyone. Can't wait to get my jet black plus.

They should get a life and order it online, nobody told you to sleep outside the store, you took a risk, it didn't work out. No sympathy.

i really don't understand why people still line up for the phone.. why not just preorder the phone via their web?
Nitro Junkie
Nitro Junkie - September 16, 2016 at 2:21am
This is crazy. Why on earth didn't apple think about having more available on launch day. What they should have done is waited to release them next Friday. I know they kind of limit what they produce in their first batch in case somethings go wrong kind of like the Samsung problem that's going on now but still. If no plus sizes will be available for a month or so then why put them on sale with no stock. This is ridiculous if you ask me.

Maybe it's because a store could only carry so much, but not enough.
