Apple is Allegedly Testing Five iPhone 7 Prototypes

Posted December 1, 2015 at 2:02am by iClarified
A new rumors out of China claims that Apple is testing five different iPhone 7 prototypes, each with unique hardware characteristics, reports GforGames.

Reportedly, some of the technologies that can be found in these prototypes include a USB Type-C connector compatible with headsets, wireless charging technology, multi-Force Touch, dual camera configurations, and fingerprint recognition technology embedded within the display. The source claims that Apple is also fiddling with AMOLED display technology, but we should point out that, based on recent reports, the first iPhone to use an AMOLED screen will not be released before 2018.

Apple's testing of various hardware versions for the upcoming iPhone is normal. We've seen leaked prototypes and even case production start on for design that was never released.

One such prototype could be the source of a rumor that Apple will drop the headphone jack on its next generation device.

The iPhone 7 isn't expected until late 2016 but you can follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

Not surprising. It would be more shocking if they weren't yet running Field Tests on the 7 hardware by now.

Hmmm removing the jack would make some sense if 1. There's a split adapter to allow charging and using wired headphones at the same. or 2. Have Wireless charging so c port dedicated to headphones.

No headphone jack is dumb. Many older cars have headphone jacks to allow the device to connect . Why not relocate the it , just like the power switch that sucks where they moved it to.

When the device gets thin to remove something, there's no room for it elsewhere.

I assume they would want you to use Bluetooth headphones. Same as the 12" MB
