Microsoft has announced that students can purchase Windows 7 for a special price of $29.99.

To qualify you must have a valid .EDU e-mail OR an e-mail address through one of the educational institutions listed here.

The version of Windows offered is Windows 7 Home Edition.

Way to go M/S your bound to gain SOOO much market share by discounting your ridiculously overpriced/overhyped OS and selling it to students only. If Windows 7 is SO great why isn't it $29 for everyone? M/S is more like BS! I'll stick with my OS X SL thanks... Bill's got enough money already
