Can you play movies off of an external drive? And would Siri be able to find those files?

Can anyone tell me what's the significance of the GB storage space. You can't load ripped movies on it right? Is it mainly for gamers to store a bunch of games on?

One word...Kodi. Side load from Xcode 7 and download all the movies you want. That is IF the current version of Kodi doesn't have dependencies outside the sandbox which would prohibit it from functioning without a jailbreak. But...even if it does, I am 100% sure that a new build to accommodate the ATV4 will be released OR that there WILL be a jailbreak for the ATV4 relatively soon. As far as the storage is concerned, that would be for games and apps. Apple has restricted the app size to 200MB for developers, asking us to use on-demand services, which lets the user only download what is needed at the time on larger games and apps. Photos, music and movies that are used most frequently are cached, but most content that isn't frequently used will be cloud-based. So if you plan on downloading a lot of games and apps, using them for hours at a time, and switching between them frequently...then I would get the 64GB model. If you aren't going to rely heavily on it for entertainment, the 32GB model should suit your needs. Myself...I will be going with the 64GB model "just in case"...because it's always better to be safe than sorry.

I always shunned kodi, from having it on my original Xbox upwards never seeing why I'd want another media player, but we got a bulk amount of fire tv sticks in at work and i was tasked sticking kodi on them and then found about the addons, I seemed to have wasted my media experience since the original Xbox ): now I've got it running on everything, so roll on a jailbreak for atv4....how ever I'm not 2 pleased with the price difference between the us and uk so roll on a price drop as well, oh and if it's not to much trouble I also want it to make my morning coffee LOL

Ordered a 64gb with remote strap. Hope it's going to be a worthwhile upgrade from my 3rd gen. Sucks that there is no 4K on it though.

Like you, I miss the 17" MBP. I realize that in today's market, "smaller is better", but some of us don't want to have to manage two machines (a 13.3" or 15.5" MBP for portability and an iMac for the large retina display). A large screened MBP was a perfect fit for persons with that ideology. I know some smarty-pants out there is gonna say "Oh, but you can just buy a 4k display and connect it to your smaller MBP, or just hook it up to your TV...problem solved". No...that's not problem solved. It's not as convenient and it's not the large screen with you wherever you go, say in a business trip or vacation. I take my MBP everywhere with me, but carrying a 17" or 19" monitor around with me as well just isn't plausible. Hell, this thread isn't even about the 17" MBP...but I just had to throw that out there. I'm with you, justabrake...the 17" MBP is a sorely missed part of Apple's past lineup of machines and devices. Maybe we will get lucky and large laptops will make a return, here's to hoping....
