iFixit has posted teardowns of the new Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad.

Magic Keyboard:
- Model A1644
- Lightning port for charging and pairing
- 2.98 Wh battery
- No butterfly keys

The Magic Keyboard Repairability Score: 3 out of 10 (10 is easiest to repair)
● The Lightning port and battery can be replaced independently of the logic board—if you can get the device open.
● While fragile, the keycaps are removable and replaceable.
● Excessive use of strong adhesive makes it very difficult to remove the rear panel, hindering access to every internal component.
● Without a service manual, it is difficult to open the keyboard without damaging internal components.






Magic Trackpad 2
- Model A1535
- Lightning port for charging and pairing
- 3.78 V, 7.65 Whr, 2024 mAh battery
- Taptic engine
- The trackpad rests on four springy metal tabs
- The strain gauges, mounted on each of the four spring tabs are used to measure the force applied.

The Magic Trackpad 2 Repairability Score: 3 out of 10 (10 is easiest to repair)
● The Lightning port and battery can be replaced independently of the logic board—if you can get the device open.
● Replacing a damaged trackpad surface means cutting and reapplying the adhesive on the spring tabs.
● Excessive use of strong adhesive makes it very difficult to remove the rear panel, hindering access to every internal component.
● Without a service manual, it is difficult to open the trackpad without damaging internal components such as the battery and Taptic Engine.






Magic Mouse 2

- Lightning port for charging and pairing on bottom
- The Lightning connector is soldered to the battery cable
- 3.76 V, 7.28 Wh, 1986 mAh li-ion cell holds about 9% more juice than the one in the iPhone 6s

The Magic Mouse 2 Repairability Score: 2 out of 10 (10 is easiest to repair)
● The Lightning port and battery can be replaced (as a single component), independent of the logic board—if you can get the device open.
● Replacing a malfunctioning switch requires prying through intense adhesive and soldering.
● Excessive use of strong adhesive makes it very difficult to remove the rear panel, hindering access to every internal component.
● Without a service manual, it is very difficult to open the mouse without damaging internal components such as the optical sensor and power switch.
