LANrev 5.2 Released

LANrev LP releases LANrev 5.2, enabling IT professionals to roll out Snow Leopard smoother and faster via the network. LANrev 5.2 also tracks Mac OS X 10.6 for asset inventory, and remotely manages the new operating system to save time from having to visit each machine.

LANrev's OS deployment shortens the time to upgrade multiple machines to Snow Leopard and minimizes end-user interruption during the migration process. LANrev automates the OS deployment to liberate the IT staff from the labor-intensive process. LANrev's unique imaging process occurs in the background and saves the end-users' home directory files and OS settings, avoiding extended end-user downtime with normal OS upgrades.


LANrev ensures that Snow Leopard is secure, stable, and compliant through its automated patch management system. LANrev minimizes network bandwidth usage by downloading patches directly from the Mac Software Update Server, and then automatically distributes and installs them on each computer. LANrev tracks and reports machines with missing OS patches to help enforce security and compliance.

Snow Leopard's license numbers and purchasing information can be stored in LANrev's asset inventory for license audits and accounting reports. If the computer gets stolen, LANrev can track its location and provide information to help law enforcement locate and recover the machine.
