Apple is now selling the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus SIM-free and unlocked in the United States.
--- The SIM-free iPhone comes without a wireless contract commitment or carrier financing. It doesn’t come with a nano-SIM card for iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, or iPhone 5s. And because it’s unlocked, it isn’t tied to one carrier, so you can get a nano-SIM from any supported carrier worldwide, such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, or Sprint in the United States.
Purchasing a SIM-free iPhone means you will not qualify for the lower iPhone price associated with a contract or a carrier installment plan.
If you don’t want a multiyear service contract, or if you prefer to use a local carrier when traveling abroad, the SIM-free iPhone is the best choice.
The SIM-free iPhone 6s model is A1633 and the SIM-free iPhone 6s Plus model is A1634. ---
Lol. Wtf? I reserved a AT&T iPhone 6s Plus for store pickup at launch and paid in full, came home and connected my phone to iTunes and it said congratulations, your phone is now unlocked. So this article makes no sense. You pay in full and you have a unlocked phone, it's been that way for years. What's the point of the simfree one? What's the point of this so called news article?
Your phone is unlocked for use with AT&T SIM.
If you insert a SIM from any other carrier it won't work.
Unless if AT&T is selling now completely unlocked phones.
the point is whether or not it works or it doesn't work. the point is not unlocked or locked. It's the band. Now go back and do some research before judging others.
You guys need to distinguish the difference between GSM sims and CDMA network sims. A GSM sim won't work well with a CDMA device. Verizon and sprint are CDMA, T-Mobile and ATT are GSM networks. Yea if you unlock your ATT or T-Mobile phone, it can make calls and txt well but data will not work with its LTE networks.
I got my sim free on the preorder I been doing it for the pass 3 years any t-mobile iPhone preorder comes factory unlock I don't have to wait until it come out in USA
Verizon iPhones also come factory unlocked, and from what I heard, if you buy a t-mobile phone and then put it on t-mobile, it gets locked to t-mobile, but if you take the SIM card out and put it on any other carrier first, then it stays unlocked
