The iPhone 6s Takes Better Video Than My Pro DSLR [Video]

Posted October 7, 2015 at 5:58pm by iClarified
Fstoppers has released a video declaring that the iPhone 6s takes better video than their pro DSLR camera.

In this video we compare the 4k footage from the iPhone down-sampled to 1080p to the 1080p footage from the Nikon D750. Spoiler: The iPhone wins.

Take a look at the video below and let us know what you think in the comments. Does the iPhone 6s really take better video than the Nikon D750?

Xander Berkeley (24) has been cast in The Walking Dead season 6 in an undisclosed role, according to TV Line. The casting call for the character, named "Rich," described him as "Narcissistic, egotistical, quick to braggadocio and anger, his own skin is his principal concern. He feeds off the superiority of being in control, but he plays it off with Senator-like charm. He’s vibrant, and has the charisma of a car salesman." Many will inevitably speculate that Xander is playing a well-known villain from The Walking Dead comic books, Negan, who we won't spoil here. You can scroll down a bit to here more about this villain.

1st and most important: the Nikon video has little to no editing, while the Iphone has aggressive editing right from the camera(oh wait.. it's a phone). 2nd the 4k video is downscaled. ofc it will look better. 3rd - the 4k video will take way more space - that means more cards, more space in pc, more time for processing. 4th - you got a DLSR, a camera designed to take photos. the only reason the option to take videos is there is because guys like you who want all in one.

Doesn't matter, he was only focused on how good 4k looked. Who cares about going through the whole rest of that?

Maybe the footage wouldn't be as flexible in post as those shot with a dslr. in my case, footage shot with my 1Dx has way more leeway for tweaks in post than those shot with a smartphone, thus ending up way better. I would assume smartphones already impose a lot of heavy in camera processing for the purpose of immediate sharing. As we all know, processing footage that have already been 'treated' isn't a good idea, so it leaves us with pretty much a 'final' product, whereas footage from dslrs gives us more room fir customization and improvements.

Lens on a smartphone make it better in that case.

Equipment is largely irrelevant, creativity and skill will yield the best results no matter whether it's a smartphone or midrange dslr

That's because the Nikon is horrible, specially for video.

Dude has very high expectations from Nikon 750 dslr, a camera that's been out for almost a year, when compared to a phone that's been out for 2 weeks. You want pro video to look as processed as an iPhone, go compare a camera that's as current as the iPhone 6s.

You simply don't understand whats going on here. This isn't an iPhone vs. Samsung comparison where you could say that the "year counts" even though Samsung releases their phones right before they new iPhone comes out so they can compare it to last years models and always win the spec war. This is a DSLR vs. a SMARTPHONE!!! The nikon has a 24 megapixels and huge lens, so it speaks volumes of the iPhone's quality even if the Nikon is almost a year old...it is still the latest one on the market and is a single purpose device that costs almost $1900 = 3 times the iPhone $650 price tag! Do you also think it is unimpressive if a smartphone had better processing power than a pro PC from one year ago???

Well said! Some people lack comprehension...DSLR VS A PHONE... SHows the capability of a mobile we carry daily as against carrying a cam.

you're missing the point. that 24Mpx senzor is designed to take PHOTOS. because the nikon is a professional PHOTO camera, not a video one. also, the video from the Iphone is aggressively edited while the Nikon has little to no editing. so basically he's comparison is kind of dumb.
