Apple retail stores in the United States (and possibly other launch countries) began stocking Apple Watch Bands for purchase. Multiple posts on Twitter (via MacRumors) and other forms of social media confirm. From the picture, it looks like Sport bands are the most readily available, but some users have noted that the classic buckle is also available for sale.
Band prices are as follow: The Sport band starts at $49, the Milanese Loop, Classic Buckle and Leather Loop start at $149, the Modern Buckle starts at $249, and the Link bracelet starts at $449.
While Apple carries the bands for the Apple Watch, the Watch itself still remains an online exclusive; however, by June that could change.
each link in the magical stainless steel link bracelet is hand-made out of 316L stainless steel in our state-of-the-art factories where it takes up to 40 hours to make one of these magical bracelets. the apple watch was conceived and designed as a completely singular, magical device so in order to enjoy it fully, we recommend purchasing the bands directly from our magical stores.
These aren't your run of the mill bracelets that you see on Fossils or Android Smart watches, their made out of high quality material to match the watch (Stainless Steel and Sapphire Crystal). Although it likely it didn't cost them $449 to make, thinking it cost only $20 is a bit unrealistic.
Same goes for the leather band. I own the black leather band and the milanese loop. My previous watch was $150 with a milanese loop and I can tell you right now, Apple's is a better quality by far.
