Apple Working on iOS 8.4 'Copper' Update That Features a New Music Service?

Apple is working on an iOS 8.4 firmware update that is codenamed 'Copper' (a Colorado ski resort) and includes a new Beats-based streaming music service, according to 9to5Mac.

The iOS 8.4 upgrade is well into development and is codenamed Copper, a popular ski resort in Colorado. Sources say that the iOS 8.4 update will be released after the Apple Watch becomes available, so users should not expect this update in the immediate future. Sources also say that Apple is currently considering using iOS 8.4 as the iOS update that includes the upcoming Beats-based streaming music service…

Apple has been busy working on iOS. Developers today were seeded with iOS 8.3 beta while iOS 8.2 is still in beta. In addition, we also heard today that iOS 9, apparently codenamed Monarch (another Colorado ski resort), is set to bring a 'huge' focus on stability and performance optimization.

The report aligns with previous ones that suggested Apple's new music service could launch at WWDC. Of course, plans could change and Apple could decide to delay iOS 8.4's features until the release of iOS 9 which would also be unveiled at WWDC but not be available to the general public until later this fall.

Not to mention that their "new" streaming app will cost dearly and will not be available for normal people without a credit card. This, and I said this earlier on another subject, is the only selling point for Android based phones: their PlayStore offers a lot of apps you have to pay for on iOS for free, even full versions of for the example the popular game "Pou" and for other paid apps with my provider in my country T-Mobile I can pay for apps via my phone bill. Btw: come to think of it: they have an additional (preposterously high) extra subscription for Beats music as part of your plan here too. About all those beta seeds: be happy that the betas say betas in iOS and not like Android tree are always four or more lollipops, kit-kata or ice cream sandwiches on the market at the same time. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini as backup phone and let me tell you: it's always one disappointing experience after the other if you installed a promising app and on completion it says it's just for a ,2 point higher version of the Android OS installed on your device an no legal way to get the update Samsung promised over a year ago. Count your blessings and keep jailbreaking:)

8.2 Beta 5 is out...8.3 Beta 1 is out...8.4 in testing...and 9 in testing...sounds like Apple needs to get their development together, seems to be all over the place.

Sounds like typical OS development planning ... across all platforms. The public just doesn't hear about it usually. You don't think the major auto companies aren't already working on prototypes for their 2025 (and beyond) model year?
