The Financial Times is predicting that Apple will have its tablet available by the Christmas shopping season.
The report suggests the device could be launched as early as September alongside new content deals which may see the bundling of interactive features with music downloads. The new content deals are being discussed with major record labels in an attempt to stimulate sales of CD-length music.
Its all about re-creating the heyday of the album when you would sit around with your friends looking at the artwork, while you listened to the music, said one executive.
This information contradicts a recent AppleInsider report which declared with some certainty that the new tablet would be released in early 2010.
[Job's has] since cemented the device in the company's 2010 roadmap, where it's being positioned for a first quarter launch, according to people well-respected by AppleInsider for their striking accuracy in Apple's internal affairs.
