A physical mockup of the iPad Air 2 used by accessories makers has surfaced online revealing a thinner design, Touch ID, and more.
The images were posted by tinhte.vn, a Vietnamese site which has posted accurate leaks in the past. In this case, the device is said to be a mockup, so design elements could change in the future.
The iPad is about 7mm thin. That's .5mm thinner than the current iPad Air. The home button features a Touch ID sensor as expected and there are two small holes near the camera, one on the back and one on the edge. It's likely that the one on the back is a microphone; however, the one on the edge is in the exact post the mute switch would be, so perhaps it's just a placeholder.
Apple is expected to unveil the new iPad Air on October 16th alongside new iMacs and OS X Yosemite.
