Apple Employees 'Have Set Low Expectations' for iWatch's Battery Life?

A new report from The Information says Apple employees are setting low expectations for the iWatch's battery life.

Jessica E. Lessin writes, "I hate to burst everyone’s bubble here—the appeal of the world’s most highly anticipated wearable computer is going to come down to something a lot more mundane: battery life."

Apple is rumored to be using a flexible OLED display for the device which requires less power than traditional displays; however, the wearable may still underwhelm in terms of battery life.

"People who have talked to Apple about the watch said that Apple employees have set low expectations," said Lessin. However, it is possible that Apple is 'sandbagging' its claims to ensure customers don't have overly high expectations when purchasing.

Apple is widely expected to unveil its wearable device on September 9th; although, it appears unlikely that it will ship until late this year or early next year.

Well, like with everything else, once it exists it will improve every year in six month half steps. That, is totally in contradiction to the value of traditional watches, and be a reason why they will not keep value, and hence never able to command true premium pricing and prestige. / if you buy the first one, it's just to show off, I prefer Panerai, Cartier, Lange, even Rolex. If not self winding (like solar would) at least multiple day reserve... It will be a 'nice to have' gimmick for now. Do I need to !? NO! Will Switzerland be in the shit as Johnny Ive declared!? Hell no !

You didnt even bother working on watches compared to what we did to keep this business alive and up to its name like you. Just because of battery life doesn't make that much different, accessories like genneo for iPhone for example can charge by movement and take it anywhere, if you compare it to iWatch accessorie that will soon come to it, then it's bound to be a success. John Ive has his ways even for design. Let life be.
