The Yandex.Translate app has been updated to allow for offline translation on iOS.
The app contains more than 40 languages. You can translate between any pair, such as from English to Danish. For more common languages there is a dictionary with examples of word usage, and you can even hear how words and phrases are pronounced.
Without Internet access, the app is able to translate from Russian to English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. Just download the languages you need and turn on "offline mode" in settings.
*A single offline dictionary can take up approximately 600 MB of space.
Other features include:
- simultaneous translation as you type;
- predictive typing for quicker text entry;
- automatic language detection; and
- a record of your translation history.
There are pronunciation examples for: English, Arabic, Dutch, Greek, Danish, German, Norwegian, Spanish, Italian, Catalan, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish, Czech, Finnish, French and Swedish.
The complete list of available languages is: Albanian, Arabic, Armenian, Azeri, Belarusian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, Georgian, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Maltese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
What's New In This Version:
The text-to-speech button is back! And the app can now translate from Chinese or Thai to any of more than 40 languages already available in the app's database, as well as translating from any of these languages into Chinese or Thai.
You can download Yandex.Translate from the App Store for free.
