Apple has obtained approval to sell two iPhone 6 models in Thailand, according to Takorn Tantasith, the Secretary General of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission.

Manager Online says that Apple requested permission to import two new iPhones with model numbers A1586 and A1524. The request was made on August 5th and approved on August 8th. Government regulations mean the approvals must be made public; however, specs and other details are confidential.

Google Translation:
Really, the report added that Apple is a company secret. The NBTC. Seen importation permit is subject to disclosure because it is a government agency. When the applicant is ready to be revealed. However, it does not provide the specifications. And details of the secret can not be revealed.

The request for approval in Thailand is earlier than in previous years. For example, Apple applied for permission to sell the iPhone 5s on September 16th, 2013 and received approval on September 25th, 2013. This may suggest that Apple is planning a big international launch for its next generation smartphone.

Apple is rumored to be unveiling the iPhone 6 on September 9th. It's still unclear if the company will announce 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models at the same time.

Translation for the statement: "Actually, Apple told us that this was the secret of the company. But we, NBTC, thought that the request for distribution [of any electronic device] in Thailand, was legal to be presented, because we are a government agency. So if there is a request for this, we have the right to publish it. Anyway, Apple didn't give us the specifications of the phone. And for the secret info/specs, we have no right to publish it."
