Apple VP Greg Christie to Depart After Clashing With Jonathan Ive?

Posted April 9, 2014 at 8:27pm by iClarified
Apple VP of Human Interface Greg Christie is reportedly set to depart the company after a falling out with SVP Jonathan Ive, according to 9to5Mac.

In 2012, Ive became the SVP of Human Interface (now simply 'Design') following the departure of Scott Forstall. Christie led software design efforts at the company, reporting to Craig Federighi; however, Ive sat in on design meetings to 'provide leadership and direction'.

Christie's departure reportedly stems from disagreements with Ive over the design of iOS 7.

When Ive tasked Apple’s Human Interface team with redesigning iOS 7 to include an entirely new look, Christie and Ive reportedly clashed over design direction, after which Ive is said to have circumvented Christie’s leadership of the team during the new operating system’s development. Christie’s impending departure comes in the months ahead of significant updates to both iOS and OS X. While iOS 8 will retain the same overall design as iOS 7, OS X 10.10 will be revamped with a flatter look that loses the textures that Christie utilized to make the iPhone the most popular gadget on the planet.

Notably, Christie has just been in the news to talk about the 'slide to unlock' feature he invented ahead of Apple's trial with Samsung. He also provided a look at the secret room where the iPhone was born.

Christie's departure from Apple would be a significant loss for the company; however, it would solidify Ive's control over both hardware and software design, allowing for better integration between the two.

If you want the damn icons back than there's jailbreaking as an option and use winter board to change the look. Problem solved.

Your defensive shit doesn't even follow what Ai was talking about, did I mention 7.1 about it? I meant whatever iOS version you're running and jailbreak, but since you asked, there IS IOS 7.1 jb. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fuHC8s2Njo

Well... I did waste 5 min watching the video - w/o sound. At no time was there any visual proof of a 7.1 j/b so if you want to believe in the scam by all means go ahead & 'enjoy' it.

Apple Inc. is broken (and I know that no man is an island) but without Steve Jobs, Apple is broken. Ask Scully.

Jobs or not apple is still apple. Are they broke from selling the same old phone you're probably thinking? Ask your mom to educate you for help if you keep hurting yourself with confusion. Did you pay no attention to this? --> http://m.iclarified.com/entry/index2.php?enid=39211

And what about the Mac Pro, what does that explain to you. They did it completely without jobs, thinner iPhone iPad and better headphones without jobs. Yes I used them. Explain that? Why else would graphics boost and speed go twice as fast by the year a new iAnything comes out, explain that!
