Mercedes-Benz Demos Apple CarPlay in New C-Class [Video]

Mercedes-Benz has offered a demonstration of how Apple CarPlay works in its new C-Class.

CarPlay gives iPhone users an intuitive way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music and access messages with just a word or a touch. Users can easily control CarPlay from the car’s native interface or just push-and-hold the voice control button on the steering wheel to activate Siri without distraction.

I thought that the whole point for this was to keep the driver's eyes on the road but he is constantly looking at the screen. How is this different from just placing your phone on the dash via a dashboard mount? Towards the end of the video he's trying to play a song by the time he finds it he'd have cause a 20 car pileup lol.

Siri is faster, the whole thing is using the antenna to connect just like radios do. That's the difference.

Really maps sucks all time I try in different countries they always lack. Better to use app like sygic or google maps. But google map is best.

What? Google craps is slow when I use directions, sure it has street view but flyover makes me feel like I'm wherever I look on apple maps. They rock as always now.
