Elgato has announced Elgato Video Capture, a complete and easy-to-use solution for transferring analog video - including home movies on VHS tape - to a Mac, iPhone and iPod. Elgato Video Capture connects VCRs, set top boxes, camcorders, DVD players, and other analog video sources to the Mac via USB 2.0. The included software records video in the H.264 or MPEG-4 formats that are native to iTunes.
A Few Easy Steps
The video capture software guides users through each step, from connecting an analog video source to selecting how to watch and share the video. With one click, videos can be transferred to iTunes, played back in QuickTime Player, uploaded to YouTube, or opened in iMovie for final editing.
Broad Support
Elgato Video Capture comes with everything required to transfer video, including a video cable and a SCART adapter. Connect any analog video source to the Mac with composite and S-Video inputs.
Worldwide Compatibility
Elgato Video Capture supports NTSC, PAL, PAL/60 and SECAM input video standards and records video at resolutions up to 640 x 480 pixels, in either H.264 or MPEG-4 formats. Select between 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios and trim the beginning and end of recordings.
System Requirements
Elgato Video Capture requires a Mac with an Intel Core Duo processor, Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later, QuickTime 7.6 or later, and iTunes 8.1 or later.
Pricing and Availability
Elgato Video Capture is now shipping and can be purchased at the Elgato Online Store for 99,95. It will be available at Apple retail stores and other local Mac resellers shortly.
