Apple is celebrating 'Thirty Years of Mac' with a new video, homepage design, and timeline of Mac products.

The Apple homepage has been updated with the following message:

Happy Birthday, Mac.
In 1984, Apple introduced the world to Macintosh. It was designed to be so easy to use that people could actually use it. And it came with a promise — that the power of technology taken from a few and put in the hands of everyone, could change the world. That promise has been kept. Today, we create, connect, share, and learn in ways that were unimaginable 30 years ago. Imagine what we can accomplish in the next 30 years.

Got first mac in 1984 a gift from husband's place of work. Didn't know what we were going do with it. but I was very quickly hooked. Still hooked on Apple but some of the initial ideas - like the computer "for the rest of us" have been minimized or forgotten. The latest system for example, is, for us visually oriented users. rather disappointing and the difficulty in fixing the newer macs is questionable. As a consusmer, I do miss Steve Jobs! And the smaller lighter computers is great for some but I like my bigger heavier computer b/c it has what I need.

They want to make it look like they're talking to someone else or it's how camera man do it.
