Apple to Increase iPhone Display to At Least 5-Inches, Launch OLED iWatch?

ETNews is reporting that Apple will make significant changes to the displays of its future devices including the iPhone.

Citing industry sources, the site claims that the iPhone will have its 4-inch display increased to at least 5-inches. This aligns somewhat with a recent WSJ report that said Apple is investigating screen sizes from 4.8-inches to 6-inches.

The site says Apple will release a new 9.7-inch iPad with a design similar to the iPad mini later this year, as expected. A Retina Display iPad mini is said to arrive next year, as some rumors have suggested. Finally, Apple is also said to be preparing a 12.9-inch iPad for release next year.

ETNews says Apple is planning to adopt a flexible OLED for its rumored iWatch and has hired OLED experts from LG Display. It's also considering the potential of equipping the MacBook with an oxide circuit-equipped LCD panel for better power consumption.

Finally, the report also says that display production is being shifted to LG Display and Samsung Display as Japan Display looks to diversify.

Just because of that to switch to a poor built galacrap? The market share increased a by a little, would millions really leave that easily? The main reson it stays the same unless being taller again (which it won't) is that it's one hand use and easier grip!

I'm just saying apple did improve iPhone enough or else people would've like "the system is good now but I hate the size" b/c that's how other phone are doing, and this guy thinks people left apple just b/c of screen size, it's performance that we all need and iPhone may not have the same one hand use unless it's .2" wider.

I sure as sh!t hope there will never be a 5" iPhone, 4.5" at the most, I enjoy my 4" 5 screen just fine and my Htc one M7 is great as well at 4.7" but even that's still pushing it

It might be the same thing for specs, unless maybe there may be 12 mp cam., more ram, and NFC, that's all but hopefully to make people satisfied, I hope apple to include these!

If apple gets into the big screen market they will lose me, I dont want a vcr size phone that I cant control with one finger. The hell with 5 inch Iphone, I will keep my Iphone 5s because is the last phone apple is going to make that fits in my pocket.

@toto because rumors, they were the reason ios 7 icons look like this and now they want big ass screens! I want iPhone to be a tad wider so it will even out from being too tall and still use in one hand, but yeah, 5" would definitely copy galaxy!

I wonder if they did a poll people will choose the smaller version then those big VCR phones out there. I saw a man about 5-3 carrying a galaxy S4 in his belt, and I thought that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

@Toto: Did you live under the rocks the past couple months?? Apple is the only one that still makes a small size phone, everybody (Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC, Motorola,....) have made bigger screen phones years ago at least a year ago. They wouldn't have made bigger sceen size phones if there's no market for it. 80% people want a bigger size (> 4") and here's the link: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19512_7-57598958-233/choose-your-next-iphone/ In all fairness, first of all, we're all different: some have small hands, some have big hands, you might not be able to use a >4" phone in one hand but the others can. Some want to use a phone like a phone, some want to use the phone primarily as tablet for checking email, Facebook, Twitter... so I think the best way for Apple is to make TWO different screen sizes phones: pay more if you want a little bit bigger phones and that should please everybody! As for me, I want a small phone on the weekends when I go out but I want a bigger phone on the weekday when I spend more time on emails, facebook, twitter.... I knew how you feel when I first saw a person with an S3 (and S2 is even a bit smaller than S4) and my iphone looked like a dwarf and I thought "This is ridiculous!" Now I see more people with bigger phones everywhere, so I get used to it!

If 4.5" - 5" is too big for you and you're a man,..... hmm.... that tells something about you :) and if you're a lady,....hmmm... that tells something about your man! :) but if you're still in high school, that's understandable, but... you should concentrate on your studying first to get a real job to use your own money to buy an iphone rather than using your parents' money, right? Anyhow, the majority people now want a bigger iphone, not the same old shit, so no doub that Apple will make a bigger iphone next year. Case closes!
