Apple has issued a press release reannouncing that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will be launching on September 20th. Notably, Apple still hasn't provided any details on iPhone 5c pre-order numbers which has some investors concerned.

As we previously noted, the iPhone 5s will not be available for pre-order, meaning you will need to lineup to purchase one when the device goes on sale at 8:00 a.m. September 20th.

Here's the full release:

Ill "need to line up" to purchase. Um no I won't . My time is very valuable... If I decide to buy this phone ill either have it shipped to my residence... Or I'll walk into a store and buy it when there is no line . It's not that special that I'd ever wait more than 5 min in a line to buy it.

This still says nothing. Clear information is needed. If bought online at 12:01am can the 5s be picked up in store at 8:00am? Or will online purchases of the 5s on the 20th only be available for shipping at a later date? Asked CS, no one knows, which is pretty sad and stupid of Apple since it is a simple question

Only an unlocked version is useful to me. Apple telephone reps have no info if/ when available.

This is what you see in the Apple Store Web Page: Unlocked and contract-free. TMobile Learn more about the unlocked iPhone If you buy iPhone for T-Mobile, it will arrive with a nano-SIM card already installed that you can activate by visiting an Apple Retail Store or a T-Mobile store or by calling T-Mobile. When you travel internationally, you can use a nano-SIM card for iPhone 5s from a local GSM carrier. The unlocked iPhone 5s model is A1533 (GSM). For details on LTE support, see www.apple.com/iphone/LTE.

So far unlocked but only with TMobile activation required: About the Unlocked iPhone The unlocked iPhone includes all the features of iPhone but without a wireless contract commitment. You can activate and use the unlocked iPhone on the supported GSM wireless network of your choice, such as AT&T or T-Mobile in the United States. The unlocked iPhone will not work with CDMA-based carriers, including Sprint and Verizon Wireless. If you don’t want a multiyear service contract, or if you prefer to use a local carrier when traveling abroad, the unlocked iPhone is the best choice. If you choose T-Mobile, your iPhone comes with a T-Mobile SIM card already installed. You will need to contact T-Mobile or visit an Apple Retail Store to activate your iPhone. Otherwise, the unlocked iPhone does not come with a micro-SIM card for iPhone 4s, or a nano-SIM card for iPhone 5c so you’ll need to get one from any supported GSM carrier worldwide. To start using your iPhone, simply insert the SIM card into the slot and turn on iPhone by pressing and holding the On/Off button for a few seconds. Then follow the onscreen instructions to set up your iPhone. Purchasing an unlocked iPhone means you will not qualify for the lower iPhone price associated with a contract. The unlocked iPhone 5c model is A1532 (GSM). The unlocked iPhone 5s model is A1533 (GSM). To help decide whether the locked or unlocked option is right for you, compare wireless service plans. You are wrong, unlocked its unlocked, you could use the T-Mobile card or not, the iPhone will activate the same, they just put that because T-Mobile its the only company to offer a non contract... but it will work, believe me its been like that before and people that are not us like me are been using it like since the first time they offered unlock... just check other country apple web page and you will find it like this to but without the T-Mobile card...
