What a lame copy of OS, its a shame, seems they have no more creativity after all this years, when i bought my laptop and i hated the fact that they are putting this shitty windows and all new computers. It crashes all the time, Even with that new update still being crap.

This is awesome. If Apple release a fraction of these features, all the fanboys would be jizzing in their pants. Sorry guys, my OSX is very dated. Oddly enough I am now in the process of replacing all my Apple desktops/laptops with Windows8 touchscreen devices. My house is now MODERN!

This is pretty neat. I'm really excited to see what happens here with a final release.

Oh and for those that REALLY just want the old start menu back. Just install Classic Shell, it's free, takes 2 minutes and Win8 will act EXACTLY like Win7 with it installed!

Looks great. Putting the start button back was smart, clicking in the bottom left of the screen was too confusing for the layman, they need to see the button. And even for those that knew it was there, it was still less pleasant than a nice big button. The new start screen (metro) is awesome IMO, people need to give it a chance and stop acting like the ugly old menu was special. Metro does everything the old did only with a nicer UI. The only issues I think Win8 has is the confusing nature of the missing start button and the fact that Shut Down/Restart was hidden away so that casual users could not fins it easily. I paid attention during the welcome screen though so I had no problems with either. But hopefully 8.1 will remedy these issues for many.

Why can't people see the obvious? The big tiled interface IS the Start Menu. Everything listed under the start menu shows up in the tiled interface. I know it's a pain when using a mouse (so I don't recommend any of my friends and family to purchase Windows 8 unless they get a touch screen), but with the touchscreen, Windows 8 rocks and feels so modern. Using a combination of mouse and touch is pretty slick. Just don't go 100% mouse or touchscreen unless you want to pull your hair out!
