ABC has released the previously announced WATCH ABC app that can now live stream television to select markets.

WATCH ABC is a new way to experience ABC television. You can now watch your favorite TV shows and local programming – LIVE – at home or on the go. You can still watch your favorite shows ON DEMAND. View full-length episodes today!

Features: 
- View ABC shows ON DEMAND such as Scandal, Once Upon a Time, Modern Family, Grey's Anatomy, Good Morning America, General Hospital, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and more.
- Available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch.
- Didn't finish your episode? Pick up where you left off. 
- Closed captioning available on select shows/episodes.

Availability:
Live video available in Philadelphia and New York City area only. Must be within each station’s local viewing area. Program substitutions may apply. Starting July 1, 2013, simply verify your eligible TV provider account for continued access to LIVE video.

ABC has already announced that at least 19 more cities will be getting live streaming in the near future.

It says that as of July 1st we will need to verifty our eligible tv provider account. I'm a little confused...will I need to be connected to say Comcast or Verizon on line? LIke do I need to pay my bill on line to have an account? I really like this app and don't want to lose it.

This has dropped it's fast connection and slowed down compared to when it started out ! I was able to drive around with it running in the beginning now I can't connect that much anymore outside

Thanks for the information on the new app. Streaming TV and movies are something that I do a lot of; especially when things get slow during my shift at DISH. I've tested just about every streaming app out there, and I'll try ABC's app. However, if I had to have an app for each network I subscribe to, I would have to have over 250 apps on my phone! That's why I love my DISH Anywhere app; it streams all of my live networks, and DVR recordings as well. That gives me full access to my DVR, just about everywhere I go.

Well I live in Gainesville, FL, and I am streaming this app, of course my iPad is jail broken...... Just another reason to jailbreak your iDevice!!

What about those who do live in NYC but does not have cable tv?? Basically I'm left out in the cold and this app will become useless for me on June 1st. So basically I've been teased and screwed again.

I'm in the same boat I live in LI and just dropped my cable but kept my Internet with cable vision and now subscribe to Aereo but I still have my subscription to newsday with the Internet, Not sure if they will accept my login with cablevision without cable TV , Anyway I still get this with Aereo WiFi or Cellurer connection

i have been waiting for this for 5 years. problem i see now is you will need a cable provider to stream. i think is not fair , charge me a fee and i will pay for it

Aereo is good ! but like this it is a time delay broadcast by 3 min. This ABC app is really good wish more stations would do this ! I like it because I use it on my ipad and don't have to use a TV or cable and I use it next to my computer so I could watch news and be on the internet all at once, Aereo is not as good as this app for sure but I hope it gets better as it's saving me $40 bucks a month on basic cable stations I came froma $55 bill to a $15 a month bill and still get to keep my subscription to Newsday News > Not Bad
