Time Warner Cable has updated its TWC TV app to live stream TV channels to your device even while away from home.
If you are a Time Warner Cable video subscriber, the FREE TWC TV app turns your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch into another TV screen and lets you watch live TV and On Demand programming while in your home, through your wireless home network. Watch Bravo from your bedroom, take Food Network with you to the kitchen or catch up on CNBC news from the breakfast table. And now, selected On Demand programming and live TV channels are available for viewing when you are away from home!
What's New In This Version: - Access selected On Demand programming and live TV channels while away from home - Filter the live TV mini-guide by category - Sort the live TV mini-guide alphabetically by network or show title - Bug fixes and performance enhancements
You can download TWC TV from the App Store for free.
It seems like a solid update, if not limit pushing. I got the full story on Time Warner's update when I got to work at DISH yesterday. It's cool that Time Warner is finally offering some streaming outside the home, but who wants to watch the TV Guide channel? I watch a ton of different teams in many different sports, but I'm not always home to watch them on TV. I use the DISH Anywhere app to stream ALL of my live TV channels or DVR recordings while I'm away from home; it works on any 3g, 4g or WIFI network I have access to, so I can watch my teams no matter what channel they air on anywhere I go.
