Numerous photos surfaced today of cases for the upcoming iPad 5 with one site predicting that the tablet will be announced on June 18th.

Engadget got a hold of a case that shows thinner side bezels similar to the iPad mini at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair.

As before, cases for this unreleased "iPad 5" have also been making the rounds in China, and we've managed to get our hands on one at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair earlier today. It's the same old story according to a staff at the booth: the case is based on a leaked mold. Oops!

Tactus.com has also posted images of a similarly designed iPad case; however, they predict that the device will be announced June 18th and go on sale June 27th.

This is the mould for the iPads 2, 3 and 4 (blue mould) compared to the mould for the upcoming iPad 5 (green mould) which won’t even be announced until a media event on the 18th June. If you’re wondering when the iPad 5 is also set for sale, then you’ve visited the right place. The iPad 5 is set to go on sale on the 27th June, just 9 days after the big media event.

iPads aren't really something you keep up to date with, and they have never really had any major changes to them. I don't understand why people feel the need to buy new iPads every time apple comes out with a new one. I am using a iPad 2 jailbroken and honestly there really isn't anything different in the new ones, they are a little bit faster if anything. You should only be upgrading if the current iPad you have doesn't have LTE and you really need the faster speeds.

I like to get the newest ipad out a couple months out from a new release This way you get it cheaper and its good for a year or more without it loosing to much value when you resell and upgrade again

it is a good idea and i will typically do that with my iPhones when it comes down to the S-models (3GS/4S) but when it comes down to iPads i don't even think its worth the $50-$90 you have to put up to upgrade. And i think apple even saw this thats why they got rid of the number system and just call it "the new iPad" to make it something like a macbook type, where you would only upgrade a macbook every 4 years or so.
