New web traffic reports for March 2013 have Apple generating far more web traffic then its populous rival.
Net Applications has Safari's browser share increasing to 61.79% in March from 55.41% in February. Android Browser is at 21.86%.
Analyst Gene Munster has iOS at 66.40% up from 65.3% in February. Android moved down to 28.7%.
"First, we note that with over 80% share of smartphone sales at AT&T and over 60% at Verizon in Q4, we believe iOS is the most popular smartphone platform in the US. Second, we believe that iOS users are likely more engaged with their phones on a daily basis than Android users on average. Third, we believe that iOS's contribution from tablets, which are likely to generate more traffic than a smartphone, is greater than Android's. We believe that iOS is likely to continue to lead in mobile traffic generation in the US for at least the remainder of the year."
