iH8Sn0w has released Sn0wBreeze v2.9.8 with iOS 6.1 support for iPhone 3GS, and A4 devices including the Apple TV 2.

What is New?
● Added 5.2/6.0.x/6.1 untethers provided by evad3rs
● Added iOS 6.1 support for iPhone 3GS, and A4 devices.
● Fixed Hacktivation issues on 6.0.x.
● Fixed some iFaith mode bugs.

(I should note AppleTV 2 stuff such as XBMC is currently broken. So you may want to hold back on updating until your favorite tweaks are updated and available.)

Downgrading:
Use iFaith mode after selecting/downloading the appropriate IPSW for your device. You will then be prompted to browse for SHSH blobs for the IPSW you have selected.
Remember to enter a PWNED DFU state with sn0wbreeze's iREB button in the top bar of sn0wbreeze prior to (SHIFT + Restoring) the custom signed IPSW!

A5(X)/A6(X) Support?:
As stated many times in the past, sn0wbreeze cannot be updated to work on A5(X)/A6(X) devices until a low level exploit in DFU or iBoot is found and made public.

A5(X)/A6(X) Baseband Preservation/Hacktivation?
For those running A5(X)/A6(X) devices and need to preserve your baseband, there is nothing you can do at the moment. For those wanting to hacktivate, the only advice I can give is to buy the carrier's SIM (the one its locked to obviously) on ebay. The SIM does not have to be activated with the carrier to activate the phone.

Known Bugs/Issues:
● Windows 8 users currently need to use this workaround to run sn0wbreeze.
● First boot on an AppleTV 2 for 5.1/5.2 firmwares has funky glitches. Should be fixed by updates pushed via repos.
● iPad baseband will fail to flash on iOS 4.0 --> iOS 4.2.1 restores.
● iPod Touch 2G 4.x.x restores fail (fix coming soon).

Hi all, new problem, wracking my brain and my dfu finger is raw! :) O.k. managed to downgrade 3gs, 6.15 broadband to 5.16 which is no good right? This was done by Redsn0w. What to do? Thanks I appreciate any ideas!

OLD 3GS 6.1 with 6.15 BB - Solution I got mine working. You only need redsn0w and their instructions. 1) restore to factory settings using itunes. 2) reflash downgrade BB using redsn0w. 3) jb using redsn0w. You can't BB & JB at same time!! 4) install ultrasn0w. 5) good to go! might need to reboot if it doesn't work at first.

This is confusing me, what exactly does it mean? Step 7 – Restore Custom 6.1 Now close Sn0wbreeze 2.9.8 and open iTunes, Hold down the Shift/Option key and hit the Restore button; Browse and select the custom firmware 6.1 from the desktop; iTunes will start restoring custom iOS 6.1 on your iPhone/iPod Touch; That’s it! Your’ve successfully jailbroken iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G on iOS 6 The above shift/Option key - how and when? In Itunes what is it you hold down? Sorry if this is a stupid question! :)

It's not that confusing. After doing everything in sn0wbreeze, your phone will be in pwnd dfu mode. When you start itunes, it will tell you that iphone needs to be restored. There is the restore button. Hold shift and push it! Select ipsw which sn0wbreeze made and etc

i see lots of people have no service issue. if your jailbreak just went fine, and if u have 6.15.00 or 5.13.4 modem firmware. what u have to do is to install 1.2.8 ultrasn0w. but make sure it is 1.2.8 not 1.2.7. after u install it, reboot your device. if it doesnt work, reboot twice.

I tried that, but mine is still getting no service. Sometimes it's "searching" for a long time.

if your baseband is 5.13.4, try to upgrade to 6.15.00. or if it is 6.15.00, try to downgrade to 5.13.4. maybe this can solve your issue

Yes - The modem firmware is 6.15. I'll try downgrading it later. But from what I've searched around, it seems like 6.15 is not compatible.

i havent tried it on 6.15. i tried it on two device which is 5.13.4 . both worked fine.

Ok, first of all, thanks to all you saintly people for all your hard work. Secondly, my 3GS (new boot rom) is stuck at the activation screen after a snowbreeze custom ipsw 6.1 was installed. I don't have a valid sim. I was upgrading from 5.0.1 and my baseband was 5.15.04. Not sure what the next step is. Any advice would be apreciated. Thank you!

while preparing custom firmware on sn0wbreeze, before u build ipsw, u must select general section and click activate phone. if you do that, it will pass activation screen. and after u do, if u install ultrasn0w 1.2.8 from cydia, your sim will work as well

have upgraded to 6.1 using snowbreeze 2.9.8. But after that when i try to activate the phone it does not get activated. I have first installed ultrasnow fixer than ultrasnow. Followed all steps perfectly still doesnot unlock. I am on baseband 5.14.03 iphone 3gs old boot rom

3Gs old bootrom ultrasn0w unlock updated from ios 5.0.1 Worked like a charm. At first I was afraid reading all the comments. Did exactly like the tutorial! Except iPhone got stuck with connect to itunes logo the first time after a successful restore. Then I entered to Pwnd DFu again with iREB and Shift+Restored with itunes again. And everything working now!

How do you go about downgrading the BB? I have 6.15 and I can't get it to connect. So, downgrading might help me too. And please give me the details of how you did it, so I can replicate it. :) Thanks

Downgrading is not hard. I don't think it is necessary. I did it to get my gps back working. Go to Dev site and their latest article is all about downgrading. I did that twice to get it working. I don't remember the exact steps.

you prolly upgraded your baseband. that is why u cant use it as a phone now. but in order to be sure, go to settings general and about. go down on page. look at your modem firmware. if it is differen from 5:13:4 and 6:!5:00. that means, u upgraded your modem firmware. and for this, you have to wait for ultrasn0w which breaks this baseband on cydia. or if u bought this phone from at&t,if you call at&t customer service, they will do it in 24 hours.

Hey thanks for the reply my modem firmware is 6.15.00... now I can't make calls...what do I do???...but I jail broke it and hacktivate it but can not make calls it says no service???

oh how did i miss that? it is so easy. enter cydia. go search section. type ''ultrasn0w'' and install it. then reboot your phone. it will work then.

dud, if u havent tried this yet, that is a good news. because when u try, thats gonna work %100 . because if u use locked device like me, that installing ultrasn0w is the first thing u need to do after u restore your phone :))

I had all the same problem as Tarek. Everything went great....I already install ultrasn0w v1.2.8 from Cydia, but it is still not working. "No service". It is prefectly jb, syncs with iTunes, but does not recognize the sim card. Do you have any suggestions????? Thank you so much.....Just in case, new bootrom 3gs. I also installed the ultrasn0w fixer 6.1.....nothing......

after i installed 6.1, firstly mine didnt work as well. but i installed ultrasn0w tehn i reboot and it worked. now my suggestion is you should install ultrasn0w 1.2.8 again. then reboot twice. after phone opens, wait around 1 minute, it prolly will work.sometimes it works when u reboot twice. try this. but dont forget. as i told tarek, your modem firmware must be 5:13:4 or 6:15:00

Same issue. I have old 3gs on BB 6.15 Jailbreak fine but showing no service. Can't make phone calls.

if ur baseband is 6.15.0 or 5.13.4, just install ultasn0w 1.2.8. but make sure it is 1.2.8 not 1.2.7.

Please help me! I perfectly updated my iPhone 4 with a custom ios 6.1 ipsw using snow breeze. Every thing went perfect, and I even activate my iPhone using a saved activation ticket. But the problem is that, my iTunes is not recognizing the device. I am not able to sync apps, contacts, music and etc. Please help me if any body knows the issue. Thank You

Just found out you have to search for "evasi0n 6.x Untether Package" and reboot your idevice. like this :)
