Seagate today announced the Seagate Wireless Plus external 1TB hard drive with a built-in 10 hour battery designed to wirelessly stream content for up to eight smartphones or tablets.

The Seagate Wireless Plus can be accessed through the mobile Seagate Media app for Apple iOS, Android and Kindle Fire HD devices. You can use it to see video, photos, music and even documents on the big screen via Apple Airplay, DLNA or an app designed specifically for Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-ray players.


Notably, the new device offers an option to save content and files to the drive wireless through the app which means that customers can record HD video on their iPhones and wirelessly upload the footage in full resolution to the drive. To quickly load up the drive you can use the removeable SuperSpeed USB 3.0 adapter.

Seagate Wireless Plus will be available soon from Amazon and BestBuy.com, for an MSRP of $199.99.

I prefer the 3 Tera one, already got 1 Tera and its full with iTunes and App IAP backups.

That is too much for 1tb HDD don't you think? Ya it has built in power and USB 3 but stull

Dude, its got wireless streaming. so your paying ad additional $99 for that feature along with the battery.
