How to Get Directions From Google Maps Using Siri [Video]

Here's a tip posted by Tom Rich on how to get directions from the new Google Maps app using Siri.

The trick is to add the words 'via transit' after your request to Siri.

Take a look at the video below to see it demoed...

Solves the problem of accessing Contacts as well. Try "transit directions to (Contact Name)"

you don't have to use "via". "Transit directions to (destination)" or "Transit directions from (Location 1) to (Location 2)" works just fine.

Think you'll find both are correct. Perhaps learn true English first before trying to appear as if you know something. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/route

Yup. Rout is pronounced 'row-t' - but that's a different word.

I think you'll find he pronounced it properly in the video. After all, he is English and oddly enough the English language comes from......wait for it.......wait for it......England! Bear in mind that the US took our language (English!) and changed it slightly.

Well, I prefer my method, which is using the Dictation feature once you open Google Maps, which you can also have Siri do. (the opening of the Google Maps app, that is)

What do mean? Is there a speech feature in the new Google Maps apps for iOS? Where?

There's speech recognition in any app that uses the standard iphone keyboard.
