Samsung Says iPhone Could Not Exist Without Its Patents

Shin Jong-Kyung, Samsung's mobile chief, says that the iPhone could not exist without the company's patents, reports the Korea Times.

"The truth never lies. Without Samsung-owned wireless patents, it’s impossible for the Cupertino-based Apple to produce its handsets," said Samsung’s mobile chief Shin Jong-kyun in a brief meeting with local reporters on his way to the company’s main office in downtown Seoul, Wednesday.

"As you know, Samsung is very strong in terms of portfolios of wireless patents," the executive added.

The executive also commented about the ITC's decision to review a decision which previously found that Apple did not infringe Samsung patents in making the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

"The re-evaluation decision by the USITC doesn’t necessarily mean Samsung is better-positioned for the fight with Apple. But Samsung will do its best," Shin told reporters.

So.... If the wheel were not invented, nobody would be able to invent cars??? Wireless, like the wheel, is the industry standard and obvious. If Samsung didn't come up with their wireless patents, someone else would. It is just a matter of time.

Well said Samsung. Really true. Now apple has nothing new to offer. They started selling Iphone5 refurbished in AT&T. Crappy device. Shitty iOS 6 having lots of bugs. Screw apple.

One thing I know. The only reason Samsung phones exist today is because of Android. No one would have gave a shit if android wasnt there. Maybe thats why Steve Jobs hated android more.

Amen to that, when people realize this and stop paying for over priced gadgets then the prices will come down. Because we the people control the market not Apple company or any other company. When people eventually realize this we will all have prices that we all think its fair for a device and we all will stop paying for over priced monthly cell phone fee's and their devices. People need to wake up.

Apple in 1983 when no one had a idea they invented the first touch phone, so where was Samsung there. Look in the web for Apple's first iPhone in 1983.

And Galaxy S series wouldn't have existed had Apple not come out with an iPhone. Remember, that all touch screen device that NO ONE believed in? That phone that all companies laughed at and said that'll never catch on. Interesting how everyone is making all touchscreens now

Samsung mobile wouldn't have exist without Nokia. Nokia wouldn't have become a mobile company without Motorola. Motorola wouldn't have exist without Bell telephony. So screw all mobile company!... Haha...
