Apple Says Galaxy Note 10.1 and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Infringe Its Patents

Apple is looking to add the Galaxy Note 10.1 and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to its lawsuit against Samsung in California, reports Bloomberg.

Apple made the arguments today to U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal in federal court in San Jose. Apple’s bid to expand the lawsuit follows Samsung’s Oct. 1 move to add patent- infringement claims against the iPhone 5 in the same case. Apple won a $1.05 billion jury verdict against Samsung on Aug. 24 in a separate patent case in the same court.

Samsung began selling the Galaxy Note 10.1 in August. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was released in June and runs Samsung mobile devices and the Google Nexus 7 tablet.

Every one should start competing on Innovation not the Patterns they hold. At the moment all my devices are apple; I kinda feel locked up, slowly transitioning to Android as it matures for what I use it. An apple device without a Jailbreak to me it's an useless device.. Why because of the restrictions...

Got my 4s in Dec last year for $199 Lucky me got qualify for upgrade in 10 months for iphone 5 at $199 again. Sold my iphone 4s at $360 for a 10 months old phone. Any other phone would give you more than half price of the full value? Only iphone get good resell value.

You are so wrong about your expenses. The plan your on to have such a wonderful deal on the iPhone more expensive. I have calculated it a week ago trying to get an iPhone. I found out that with my 2 year plan verses your iPhone 2 year plan. You are paying a grand total of $600 more in the next 2 year's for each phone you buy. my bill for 4 ppl in my family with unlimited 4g and texting plus 1000 shared minutes is exactly $99 a month... Sorry bro. You got ripped off.

The problem with Apple against Google/Samsung is this: Google makes the software but not the hardware, so the judges assume they are not really selling any products at all, thereby not infringing Apple's patents. Samsung makes the hardware but not the software, so they themselves are also not responsible for copying Apple. As such, it is extremely difficult for Apple to create a watertight sure-win case against them, and it is also these scenarios that Samsung is exploiting for their defense. So why is Apple continuing to raise lawsuits? Easy. If you don't shout out, no one will know you exist. And we have to acknowledge the fact that without the first ever Apple iPhone, we'll all be stuck with the pathetic Omnia phones. But again, I have to re-admit, because of these market legislations, Apple is seemingly waging a war bigger than it can afford.

Not a apple fan any more? Because apple sue? If you ever was an apple fan then I would think you would agree with apple and that they sue any one that is using software hardware? That belongs to them. As in some cases has be agreed in court. I like apples goods and agree with them suing. The only down side to apple is they don't listen to the customers vies and needs and should give customers more control over what they can and cannot do with layout of iPhone/iPad.
