Pod2g Succeeds in Untethered Jailbreak of iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1

Pod2g has announced the successful untethered jailbreak of the iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1.

Previously, three parties had demonstrated the jailbreak of iOS 5.1: I0n1c, the iPhone Dev-Team, and Chpwn/Phoenixdev.

The only claimed untethered jailbreak was by I0n1c; however, I0n1c has made it clear that he will not be releasing his jailbreak to the public.

Thankfully pod2g has announced that he's also succeeded in untethering the jailbreak.

Heya! My iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 is now untethered :-)

Obviously, this is an important step towards public release of the iOS 5.1 jailbreak. This past Monday pod2g revealed the discovery of 2 big vulnerabilities. 1 kernel land and 1 root land. It appears that progress is being made!

check google for those instructions. so long as you have your SHSH you're good. and for the love of god if you want to be jailbroken do NOT update right away.

I bought my iPad2 and it was already upgraded to iOS5.1... I used TinyUmbrella to save SHSH blobs and all I got were the blobs for iOS5.0.1.... I googled for instructions for days now, but they all confirm it was impossible to downgrade the iPad2 from iOS5.1 to iOS5.0.1... Please if you have a link that can help me post it here.. Thanks a lot.

if he jailbroke his iphone 4 it means he has jailbreak an ipad 2 as well casue they both work on a A5 processor

OMG for a second i thought i read Iphone 4s *meaning Ipad 2 also* untehered jailbreak... almost jumping around but anyways ill pateanly wait for my ipad 2 jailbreak since my iphone 4s is still on 5.0.1
