The Ledge is a Minimalistic Wall Mount for the iPad, iPhone, Other Devices

The Ledge is a simple wall mount solution for any tablet or smartphone machined from one solid piece of 6061 Aluminum.

The Ledge can be mounted to your wall using the included 3M Command Large refill strips. This provides enough stability to hold 20lbs, and most devices are under 5lbs. Drywall anchors and screws are also included for a permanent installation with maximum stability.

Designer Chris Wackburn is seeking $25,000 in funding from Kickstarter to start production. A pledge of $25 will get you The Ledge for smartphones and a pledge of $50 will get you The Ledge for tablets. There is 43 days left on the project.

I'll make one out of stained 2x2. It is nice, but a rip off for kick starter!

I've seen similar items with ipads that are recess in the wall and connected being charged when not being used

I'll be honest, I would absolutely use this thing. A lot of times when I'm getting ready for work in the morning, I will prop my iPad up on the counter and watch Dan Patrick via the DirecTV app. Other times I will fire up iTunes or Pandora. Granted, I could make a shelf myself, but I think think one looks pretty slick.

This kickstarter thing is really bringing out some crap! Did this guy really show it with a cord plugged in down to an outlet??! Laugh the f out loud, omg really?! Seriously, if this one makes it through the process and gets enough donations, I swear I am making the next BIG thing. I guess I am skepticle because I could make that thing in about 2 mins with our CNC at work, and it is just too damn easy. It's the type of thing I know so many people have improvised and made similar things to mount their idevices with (mainly ipads, not so much iphone or ipods lol). Anyway, I am watching this closely with baited hook, if this goes to startup I will be the next kickstarter :).
