iFixit Begins Teardown of the 4G iPad [Photos]

iFixit has begun its traditional teardown of the new Retina Display, 4G LTE, iPad.

We'll update this with the discoveries they make. In the meanwhile check out the photos at the link below...

Highlights:
● As we mentioned in our sneak-peek video, the display connectors in iPad 2 and iPad 3 are different, meaning the two displays are incompatible... for now.
● The model numbers on the back of the 9.7 inch LCD lead us to believe this is a Samsung LCD.
● Broadcom BCM4330 802.11a/b/g/n MAC/Baseband/Radio with Integrated Bluetooth 4.0+HS and FM Transceiver
● Qualcomm RTR8600 multi-band/mode RF transceiver for LTE bands
● Like its predecessors the A4 and A5, the A5x is also manufactured by Samsung. There isn't much difference between the old and new version of the A5: an "x" in the name and an extra 0.2 GHz clock speed.
● The NAND, part number THGVX1G7D2GLA08 is a 16 Gb 24 nm MLC Flash from Toshiba
While the iPad 2 housed a formidable 25 watt-hour Li-ion battery, the iPad 3 has upped the ante to the tune of 42.5 watt-hours.
