Google Launches Google Play to Compete with iCloud

Posted March 6, 2012 at 9:32pm by iClarified
Google's new Google Play Service offers the ability to save your content in the cloud for seamless access whenever. The new service which plans to compete with iCloud, offers an entire cloud-based storage unit for all your music, movies, books, and apps and allows for playback on your Android phone or tablet.

With Google Play you can:
●Store up to 20,000 songs for free and buy millions of new tracks
●Download more than 450,000 Android apps and games
●Browse the world's largest selection of eBooks
●Rent thousands of your favorite movies, including new releases and HD titles

Starting today, Android Market, Google Music and the Google eBookstore will become part of Google Play. On your Android phone or tablet, we'll be upgrading the Android Market app to the Google Play Store app over the coming days. Your videos, books and music apps (in countries where they are available) will also be upgraded to Google Play Movies, Google Play Books and Google Play Music apps. The music, movies, books and apps you've purchased will continue to be available to you through Google Play-simply log in with your Google account like always.

The title of this article is stupid. It has nothing to do with iCloud. The renaming of the Android Market to Google Play is simply a marketing push, as they try to show that their Books, Music, and Movies, can be purchased and rented on non-android devices. Troll = 0 Facts = 1

As someone who owns an Android device, I know first hand that NOTHING has changed, save the names of the apps. Google has been offering free music service and movie rentals for months now. Once again I say, as of right now it's only a name change, the products are still the same.

seriously stop hating on google, you use their search engines all the time. iCLOUD has never been anything new... well the concept anyway. Stop defending everything apple does. They didn't invent the tablet, they didn't invent touch screen, they didn't invent the computer...

As someone that owns an iPhone this is better than iCloud storage as they give you more than 5g for free.
