Intel Delays Ivy Bridge Processors Until June

Intel's next-generation microprocessors will go on sale 8 to 10 weeks later than originally planned, according to Sean Maloney, executive vice-president of Intel and chairman of Intel China.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Maloney confirmed an earlier report from DigiTimes stating that sales of the 22nm processor set to succeed Sandy Bridge had been pushed back. "I think maybe it's June now," he said.

The delay isn't attributed to demand but rather the new manufacturing process required to make the smaller ships.


Apple is expected to wait for Ivy Bridge to release the rumored new MacBook Pro or Mac Pro.
