Pod2g has posted on his blog to answer some questions about the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 untethered jailbreak.

How could pod2g have an untethered 4S and dev teams still haven't released tools to achieve this at home ?
The exploit I used to inject the untethering files to the 4S relies on having a developer account, and can't be released publicly. It's the same reason why @MuscleNerd has an iPad 2 tethered jailbreak but couldn't distribute it. So, we need to find a distributable exploit to remount the system partition read/write and to set Corona files at the correct places.

Why A4 version of Corona was easier to release ?
Because a tethered jailbreak is a good way to install Corona!

Why don't you do a tethered jailbreak then ?
A tethered jailbreak also relies on an exploitable vulnerability that we still haven't found yet !

Earlier this week, pod2g posted that he had made good progress on the jailbreak for A5 devices and said with some luck we could expect a release in a week.

How come you dare to say something about the person who is spending his time to jailbreak your devices free of charge... Instead of that say at least a thank you if you cannot donate for his hard work... Thank you Pod2g for all your effort and hard work that you're doing for free...

Kudos to pod2g!! I appreciate the update but it just leaves me more confused. He mentioned in his tweet for all A5 users to update iOS to 5.0.1 however in the posted FAQ it seems like there's still no way for the jailbreak to be injected in for non-developer users. Should we or shouldn't we upgrade and expect a release soon?

do not update until there's a release. or do. just save your blobs so you can get back to where you need to if you need to.

This pod2g post just proves what I've been saying all along. They already have the A5/5.0.1Jailbreak ready, but won't release due to "copyright" issues... 95% of the world don't care about copyright. Go to any country besides English-speaking countries and Europe. You see street vendors selling pirated movies, games.. everything you want. Just go to ANY torrent site and see the true world. EVERYBODY BUYS OR DOWNLOADS PIRATED STUFF ALL THE TIME! Stop hurting us because you don't have the courage to make an anonymous release of the Jailbreak in a torrent site!

Just relax! If you can be pattient then just paid for all the app at the app store! Can demand to this man with all this verbal an immoral accusations . Be nice ,, look at this way ..we don't paid anything to this guy that is helping the iPhone community to get a FREE Jailbreak !! Why can you just be extra nice!! He dosent. Red big Cajones!! Can you imagine how many hours he is putting on this jailbreak ? Because I know.. Have a good day smile ,, we live just ones and that's it and we can be mad all day over an iPhone !! lol. I love my iPhone

I want to thank everyone that put their hard work into finding iphone vulnerabilities. I was also wondering I have and jailbroken IPAD2 and I want to stay jailbroken. Do I have to update now to save my blobs or can I keep it on there and use tiny umbrella and still have my 5.0.1 blobs saved?

you said you want to keep your jailbreak so DO NOT UPDATE FIRMWARE. You should use tiny umbrella and save all possible shsh blobs. When you do finally update NEVER use stock firmware. Create a custom ipsw using redsnow or whatever is appropriate at the time. From your question it seems you're somewhat new or not yet informed so I'll go on... Creating a custom firmware can be an intimidating task if you are just learning. I was afraid to even attempt it for a loooong time but when I actually sat down to do it I learned it is as easy as jailbreaking is, maybe easier. Get the latest redsn0w and it will all be there for you. if you have any questions reply to this thread and I, and probably others, will answer.

This is what all of this is about, a jailbreak for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.As the post says they can jailbreak both devices but can't release it yet because the exploit which performs the untether is part of Apple's code and can't be distributed. They also need to find a way around breaking licensing agreements with the developer program. A jailbreak is on the way but from what I'm reading, there is still lots of work to be done before it goes public.

I really can't see this being released within a week, finding an exploit doesn't sound like something that can be done within 7 days....Not that i'm an expert or anything. I'm happy to wait though, it's not as if Pod2g is charging for the jailbreak or anything so I can be a little patient for lots of hard work for free. Good luck Pod2g and hopefully you'll make lots of A5 users happy in the near future.

And I have a lots of experience on any iPhone !!! I have a 4s ,, and I can wait to jailbreak it again like my first time!! I have a big passion doing this !!
