HTC is re-evaluating its acquisition of S3 Graphics after the company lost its ITC complaint against Apple, according to the WSJ.
Meanwhile, HTC said Thursday it was re-evaluating its acquisition of S3 Graphics, even after Chief Financial Officer Winston Yung said earlier in the week that the deal closed the week before. The company said it could still back out of the deal if the seller, VIA Technologies Inc., agrees. VIA is partly owned by Cher Wang, chairwoman of HTC.
The US International Trade Commission dismissed S3 Graphics' first complaint against Apple in its entirety saying, "no violation [...] has been shown [...] and that the investigation is terminated". The ITC did not specify why they overruled an earlier finding by the Administrative Law Judge.
