iPhone 4S Pre-Orders for Hong Kong Sold Out in 10 Minutes

Pre-orders of the iPhone 4S in Hon Kong sold out in just ten minutes, according to Ticonderoga Securities analyst Brian White.

Says White, "We believe this rapid sell out will rest concerns surrounding the uptake of the iPhone 4S in the Greater China region that were driven by the limited language capability of Siri, which did not launch in Mandarin or Cantonese."

Last month, Apple announced that it had sold over four million of the new iPhone 4S, just three days after its launch on October 14.

"iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend-the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. "iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever."

even Samsung or HTC couldn't sell out f any of their subsidised devices in 10 minutes... more like 10 weeks

Apple Hong Kong allows people to purchase 10 iPhones per customer. So people will buy all their allocated 10 phones (and more....). Then will sell to smaller retailers at a profit of HK$1000 - HK$1500 per phone. Who then will resell to their mainland China customers, such as the demand as there is no official release date for the 4S in mainland China yet!! A very quick and nice profit for those few minutes spent online!!
