Control Siri From Across the Room With the Iris 9000 [Video]

ThinkGeek has announced the Iris 9000 voice control module for iPhone and Siri.

Simply place your iPhone into the Iris 9000 cradle and use the included micro remote to trigger Siri up to 50 feet away. Just tap the Iris 9000 remote button once, listen for the Siri chime, and speak your command. The built in mic on the Iris 9000 picks up your voice from across the room and the embedded speaker amplifies Siri's spoken responses. You can also make and receive calls using the Iris 9000 like a standard speakerphone. Oh and did we mention that Iris 9000's glowing eye flickers along with Siri's voice? How's that for amazing Buckaroo Banzai future tech?

What I would like to see if the iPhone is docked and charging, Siri becomes voice activated. Then it would be just like star trek, when you say your custom command it activates Siri. You could ask the computer anything from anywhere in the room.

i dont get why you would dock your MOBILE phone to walk around with a MOBILE remote? also, the advert did little to advertise "iris" and did more to to demonstate video effects...

Isn't it better to just hold your cell phone around?

Amazingly simple marketing, considering that 'Iris' is an anagram for 'Siri'. Clearly it's a take on HAL9000. Gimmicky, yes. Popular though? No doubt it will be.

What a pointlessly long overy pretentious video. Terrible product, terrible video, terrible article.
