Clinton Asked Jobs How To Handle The Monica Lewinsky Scandal

President Bill Clinton asked Steve Jobs how to handle the Monica Lewinsky scandal, reveals Walter Isaacson in his Steve Jobs biography.

"I don't know if you did it," Mr Jobs told the then US president, "but if so, you've got to tell the country."

Isaacson reports that there was a long silence on the other end of the phone after he gave his response.

The Telegraph notes that Steve Jobs also sought a favor of his own from Clinton. While working on the "Think Different" ad campaign, he asked Clinton to call Tom Hanks to see if he would narrate the commercial. Clinton declined.

Despite these awkward situations, Jobs and Clinton maintained a strong relationship. In a Time interview after Steve Jobs death, Clinton recalled a kind gesture from the Apple CEO when Chelsea Clinton was studying at Stanford.

"He got in touch with me, and said, 'It's hard to travel to see your child when you're President. I've got a place out in the country. You and Hillary can stay there and bring Chelsea and her friends there anytime you want to,'" Clinton recalled. "He gave me a priceless gift: the opportunity to see my child while I was still a very public figure, so I'm highly biased in his favour. Plus, even I can work an iPad."

Clinton also noted that Jobs was " a very determined man. He probably had the most intense powers of concentration I ever saw."

I'm sure the house was "to meet up with Chelsea". Right! More like a private love shack.

I also read somewhere that God itself asked Jobs how to create the Platypus and the heavens......What a load of BS, but in any case he was good at marketing so....

Hmm, Steve Jobs says he agreed to this autobiography so that his kids knew what he was doing when he wasn't there for them. Well, everything we've read so far is about other people, how they are all jerks and came to Steve for advice. I guess he was just pissed at everyone else that got to live... If these excerpts came out two weeks ago, he'd be alone at his funeral :(

What the hell ? I think this Isaac is trying to get famous with Steve Info.. I've never heard of him . Now all of the sudden is appearing in every news.. Did they go into secret files of these stuff? I don't that steve would want to publish his book and reveal these kind of secrets about a US president. Because this is a kinda of trust

Direct Steve Jobs quotes are news - unlike the rumors you probably think equate to news

I highly doubt iClarified got a copy. Talk to CBS or the New York Times.

And yet, iClarified continues to post excerpts, which shows they're not only ruining the biography, they're trying to play tag-along with news.
