Some Minor Issues With Latest PwnageTool/QuickPwn

Posted August 26, 2008 at 9:57am by iClarified
The iPhone Dev-Team has found some minor issues with their latest release of PwnageTool and QuickPwn.

We've had some issues with iPod touch devices and the latest version of PwnageTool for the Mac, in certain conditions incorrect permissions will be used and the keychain doesn't save passwords. So hold on and wait for the next release, we'll push out the updated version via Sparkle as soon as it is tested (it is being tested right now). We have also encountered some issues with the Windows Beta of QuickPwn, and we have a release candidate here (http://xs1.iphwn.org/releases/QuickPwnRC2.zip) that should fix the issues seen with 64-bit Windows versions and should be able to be used with all versions of Windows, but as with all beta software other bugs may be present.

Yesterday, I used Pwnage Tool 2.0.3 with the latest Software Update File (2.0.2_5C1) on my 2G iPhone. Worked fine with the following (minor) issues: 1) Passcode Lock cannot be set or changed; 2) Passwords for known networks are forgotten every time I leave the network, 3) Password for my e-mail (Yahoo Mail) is forgotten every time I exit Settings:Mail,Contacts,Calendars. Considering the work put into developing Pwnage, I don't think anyone is in a place to whine about small stuff. Congratulations on excellent work.... and I look forward to 2.0.4!

Still no fix for moving forward once firmware is selected (works well upto " Chose your iPhone". Comes to a halt when requested to browse your firmware......any fixes coming soon. This QuickPwn is really short & sweeeeet once it is fixed. THNX
