Apple Moving Memory Purchases Away From Samsung?

Apple has increased its purchases of DRAM and NAND flash from Japan as it looks to reduce its reliance on Samsung, reports DigiTimes.

Apple has moved to reduce its reliance on memory supplies from Samsung Electronics, the sources claimed. The vendor has procured more NAND flash parts from Toshiba, and mobile RAM from Elpida, the sources indicated.

The fallout between Apple and Samsung has led to numerous lawsuits between the companies and encouraged Apple to diversify its supplier base. Earlier this month it was reported that Apple signed a foundry partnership agreement with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company for the production of their upcoming A6 chip.
