Rovio is working diligently to expand their Angry Birds franchise into books, movies, and toys, reports the WSJ.

This month the developer is set to release "Bad Piggies Egg Recipes" the first in a line of books. The title is a reference to the pigs who in the game steal eggs from the birds.

Rovio is also planning a line of educational books for children that emphasize play in learning. One of the books will illustrate geometry lessons by launching a bird through the air, similar to basic concept behind the popular game.

Rovio has also hired David Maisel, Executive Producer of Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America, as its Executive Producer of future Angry Birds films.

Mr. Maisel says he is talking to potential writers, directors and financing partners about getting an "Angry Birds" feature film off the ground. He says it would be "premature" to talk about the budget for the movie, which could be several years off.
