Apple Files Motion to Intervene in Lodsys Lawsuits Against Developers

Nine days after Lodsys sued seven small iOS developers in the Eastern District of Texas, Apple filed a motion to intervene in the proceedings, according to FOSSPatents.

Apple notes that the sued app developers are "are individuals or small entities with far fewer resources than Apple and [...] lack the technical information, ability, and incentive to adequately protect Apple's rights under its license agreement."

If Apple is allowed to participate as an intervenor, it has already submitted its answer to the complaint, and its counterclaim.


Apple plans to fight Lodsys on the basis that its developers are authorized to use Lodsys patents under their license agreement.

Yesterday, it was reported that a Michigan company named ForeSee Results Inc. has filed a declaratory judgment suit against Lodsys' four patents with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Suing apple never really does anything... And suing developers is just mean.

I guess we will never see lawyers in the unemployment line. This just stir up BS to sue each other left & right & collect exorbitant fees.
