Foxconn iPad Workshops Resume Operations

Foxconn's iPad polishing workshops have resumed operations after an explosion that killed three workers and injured 15 last month.

According to the WSJ, Hon Hai (Foxconn) spokesman Louis Woo said they have made several improvements and that the blast "was likely due to an explosion of aluminum dust in a ventilation duct."

The changes were made after a "detailed and thorough review of all related safety policies and procedures" and include improved ventilation and an overhaul of dust-disposal practices. The company is also applying "new technologies that will further enhance" safety.


It's unclear exactly how much impact the workshop shutdown has had on iPad 2 supplies.
