iPad Rivals Reduce Build Plans After 'Early Dose of Reality'

An investor note from J.P. Morgan indicates that iPad rivals have adjusted their build plans after an 'early dose of reality', according to AppleInsider.

"In our view, the technical and form factor improvements of the iPad 2 stand to make it tougher for the first generation of competitive offerings to play catch-up, meaning actual shipments could fall well short of plan," Mark Moskowitz wrote.

Their analysis found that tablet build plans have declined by roughly 10 percent since early March suggesting "non-Apple tablet hopefuls have adjusted to the weak showing so far."


J.P. Morgan is now projecting 2011 tablet build activity to come in at 63 million after a 14 percent discount.
