Despite numerous reports that Apple is working on its own maps service, iOS 5 will reportedly continue to use Google Maps, according to 9to5Google.
Sources have told 9to5Google that although Apple is working to improve the iOS Maps application, iOS 5 will not bring an Apple developed maps service and Google Maps is still in. Apple itself confirmed that it's working on a traffic database in its Q&A on Location Data.
Apple is now collecting anonymous traffic data to build a crowd-sourced traffic database with the goal of providing iPhone users an improved traffic service in the next couple of years.
