Toshiba's 4-inch 367ppi 720p Smartphone Display [Video]

Toshiba has developed a 4-inch 367ppi 720p display for use in smartphones which some have suggested could be used for the next iPhone.

Engadget got a chance to see the display at SID 2011 and took the video below...

We can report that it is, in fact, as awesome as it sounds -- onscreen images were clear, crisp, and chromatically brilliant. Pixel density enthusiasts will also be happy to hear that Toshiba confirmed the display will make it to market this year.

Only 72% NTSC color gammut? No, thanks a lot! Give it to Android. Apple is not gonna use this piece of junk, sorry Toshiba.
