iPhone Part Shows Larger 4-inch Screen, Thin Bezel? [Update]

iPhone Part Shows Larger 4-inch Screen, Thin Bezel? [Update]

A photo of the front glass panel of the iPhone 5 has reportedly been leaked online, according to iDealsChina.

China's 1st iPhone 5 photo has surfaced! From this photo it seems that the screen size will be larger than iPhone 4. There has been a lot of specualtion about a larger screen and maybe this will be one of the upgrades we will see when iPhone 5 is released this summer.

Recently, DigiTimes reported that Apple is interested in expanding the size of the iPhone's screen and has begun testing the next generation device.

From the photo below it seems that Apple may be able to keep the overall size of the iPhone the same using an edge-to-edge display.

iDealsChina says more photos are coming...

Update:
Nowhereelse.fr has done some analysis on the image finding replication of artifacts and incorrect lines of perspective. They believe it to be fake. Thanks stagueve.

I really don't understand why everyone is so antsy for a bigger screen. I've never had an issue seeing stuff on my phone, it's fine for media, fine for browsing. If Apple goes and changes the screen size right now, in order to stay "retina" they'll have to change the resolution or sacrifice ppi. I really don't see them doing this right now. They just introduced the retina standard in the iPhone 4, so to cause developers a larger headache with ANOTHER resolution to support goes against their biggest gripe with Android - design fragmentation. Also, I think its butt ugly having the screen out to the edge like that. With the current design, the aesthetics are all off - simply not something I see Ive pushing out. There will definitely be a more significant redesign to throw in a 4" screen. I expect to see the iP5 have the same 3.5" 960 x 640 screen. Maybe with the iPhone 6 we'll see something new, but I dunno. I've never found the 4" screen phones I've encountered to be as nice in the hand as the iPhone. 3.5" is the sweet-spot. My bet, speaking entirely out my ass here, is that the 4" was cheaper for the other manufacturers to get due to 3.5" demand from Apple, and that's why they all adopted it. My guess is that iOS 5 is going to drop the 3G, have partial 3GS support, full iP4 support and full iP5 support. Don't expect to see iOS 5 developers expected to have 3 different resolutions supported. The resolution won't change until all the 480 x 320 devices are no longer supported by the latest iOS. I know everyone likes having their Apple boner, but just think about things for a second. Apple has supply contracts, developer relations (barely), etc to contend with. I highly doubt they only signed a deal for 1 year of retina displays. The fact that this story got the attention of even being posted here really speaks to the drone mentality of some people with Apple rumors.

I figured out they were fake last night. When I saw the speaker and camera hole was a little off, I pinched the picture to the same size on my iPad and lined it up with my iPhone 4. I was drunk, by the way.

Even without "proof" anybody could've told you it's fake. Apple is king of design, and that is NOT pretty.
